The quaint white village of Moclín is situated in the north of the Poniente Granadino (Western Granada) region and is just a short drive, less than 20 minutes, from our accessible holiday villas.

The small village of Moclín is the highest village within Western Granada region, and at an altitude of 1,107m the views from the castle ruins are simply stunning. Though the village of Moclín is not overly wheelchair accessible, guests may drive up to the churh in order to appreciate the expansive views of the village, surrounding countryside - all set against a back drop of the Sierra Nevada mountain range.

Historically, as a consequence of Moclín's strategic position, during the Muslim period Moclin was referred to as the Shield of the Kingdom of Granada and during the Spanish Civil War, the village of Moclín became a frontier between the Franco troops and the Republican troops.

Guests who are not particularly interested in the historic nature of Moclin may simply fancy a leisurely drive out to Moclín one evening - on a Friday or Saturday evening when the village's castle and church are illuminated.
